Important Dates
Our goal is to have all practice gear and uniforms in players hands before Thanksgiving!

Each time slot is scheduled for 30min. so please arrive on-time and not more than 5min early to avoid overcrowding and long lines. Please take your time and make sure everything fits. Many items are customized and can not be returned and if items need to be re-ordered due to incorrect size, items may not arrive in time for the first competitive event.
RVC staff and coaches will be available to help players during sizing, we will be taking three players at a time and have three privacy tents for players to try items on.

- When: Sat. November 19th
- Time: 10p - 6a
Details will be coming soon! ...This is not a mandatory event but is highly encouraged!
Important Info
Coaching Staff We are very fortunate to have the great coaching staff that we do here at RVC. All coaches are seasoned and experienced in the game of volleyball and share a true passion for the sport. Each have different backgrounds, but a common goal, to make your daughter a better volleyball player from the moment she walks into the first practice. One of our first priorities is to create a team dynamic that is unstoppable on the court.
Each coach is required to turn in practice plans prior to their practices for approval. This is to ensure that all areas are touched on, and given proper attention based on age, skill level, and ability.
Practice Gear The required dress at every practice is as follows:
- 1.RVC shirt
- 2.Socks (any height or color), spandex (any color), kneepads, volleyball shoes
- 3.Water, Water, Water – save Gatorade, PowerAde, etc. for AFTER practice
- 4.If a player doesn’t wear the right gear for practice:
- a.Step one: warning
- b.Step two: sit out of practice
- c.Step three: meeting with parents
- d.It is also asked that players take in account the weather outside when coming to and from practice. Please do not wear your volleyball shoes outside when coming to practice if it is wet/snowy because it will track onto the courts and also wearing them outside will ultimately ruin them. Also, make sure you wear appropriate jackets, coats or sweatshirts as well as pants over your spandex.
Want extra uniform/practice gear? Please order at the start of the season.
Uniform Attire We take this very seriously. As a club, it is important that every player looks their best and that each team looks the same when they play at any tournament. We firmly believe Look GOOD, play GOOD!
Uniform package
- 3 x Jerseys
- 1 x Spandex
- 1 x Kneepads
- 2 x Socks
- 1 x Hoodie
- 1 x Sweatpants
- 2 x Practice Shirt - Short sleeve
- 1 x Practice Shirt - Long sleeve
Players are asked to NEVER have glitter on their bodies or hair, face paint, markers on the skin, temporary tattoos or colored hairspray. These can be transferred to a ball or on to a court and will inhibit play. This isn’t an RVC rule but a USAV rule.
A lot of younger teams like to do team ribbons for either each tournament, or game day. This is something fun that the girls like to do and it is definitely ok with us. It is not a requirement for every team to do this.
What to keep in your Volleyball Bags during the season You never know what you are going to need and when you are going to need it. Below is a list of items that we have found are helpful/necessary for every player to have in their bags during the season.
- A roll of Pre-wrap and a roll of sports tape: If you know you have to tape your ankle or hand at every practice or game please make sure you have more than one of each.
- Band-Aids
- Extra shoe lace
- Chap stick
- Extra hair rubber bands, clips, and/or headbands
- Female product(s)
- Kleenex
- Granola Bar
Rocky Mountain Region
Commonly referred to as RMR and the division of the USAV for our part of the country. They host local Powers, and Tournaments throughout the season.
RMR Powers
Powers are the day-long tournaments that take place about every other Sunday starting in January and ending in April. Some weekends are skipped completely depending on holidays and other tournaments that may be taking place
- Day of Play, players must arrive at their designated playing site and be ready to play
- Powers players need to be at the site by 7am
- Even if your team does not play or ref for the first match, it is required to be at the site by 7am because in the event a team unexpectedly drops from play, the Pool will be re-seeded and a team could be bumped up and be the first match
- Locations of Powers are not released by the RMR until about the week before the Power. AS SOON AS WE RECEIVE SITE LOCATIONS they will be sent out IMMEDIATELY via email.
There are a lot of moving pieces for RMR to coordinate where teams are going to play based on Divisions, Court availability, etc. please do not contact the RMR office or RVC Admin asking when sites will be posted. We will post info as soon as we have it confirmed.
RMR JNQ Teams that qualify for USAV's Junior National Championship must attend. Nationals are held late June into July
Tournament and Travel Information
When teams travel out-of-state, there are specific rules and policies enforced by RVC. Teams will travel to their tournament as a team. They will stay together as a team in the hotel (not with parents) and will be chaperoned by a designated team mom and their coaches.
USAV Junior Championships USAV Junior National Championships, commonly referred to as JNC’s is a tournament that takes place in the end of June/beginning of July (depending on your age group). A team must qualify for this tournament. For RVC teams, this would be at the RMR National Bid Tournament, ZBT, or another out-of-state National Qualifier. The Greeley Showdown (February) and Colorado Crossroads (March) are not National Qualifiers.
According to USAV rules, if a team qualifies for this tournament they MUST attend. They cannot turn it down for any reason. The cost of this tournament depends on air travel mainly but can run around $1500 per player.
Team Moms
Teams will have a team mom. These are volunteers from each team. For teams that travel, team mom’s travel and food are covered in the team expenses for that particular trip. RVC will purchase and provide the food for the travel trips for each team.
*ANY TEAM BONDINGS/OUTINGS ARE NOT RVC SPONSORED EVENTS*
Private Sessions Cost of private sessions is as follows per hour:
- 1 x Player $60 ea.
- 2 x Players $55 ea.
- 3 x Players $50 ea.
Payment must be made at time of booking the Private Session. A $25 Cancellation fee will be assessed if notice of cancellation is not given at least 48hrs. prior to scheduled session time.
Nutritional Information
- NO Gatorade or Powerade – ONLY WATER before the beginning of play (1 to 2 hours): *400+ calories of complex carbohydrates rich foods*
- WATER (I DO NOT recommend sports drinks as these contain high fructose corn syrup, so... NO Gatorade or Powerade – ONLY WATER)
- Cereal (no sugar/ high fructose corn syrups) w/ blueberries
- Yogurt with a banana
- Oatmeal with raisins • Smoothies – milk or soymilk with fruits
- Balanced meal drink (equal protein/carbs)
- Avoid sugars (simple carbohydrates) like candy, juices, white breads, pastas, donuts
- Whole fruits – apples, grapes, bananas, pears, etc.
- Nuts – walnuts, almond, cashews
- Whole grain crackers with natural peanut butter (no sugar/ high fructose corn syrups)
- Hummus and carrot sticks
- Celery and natural peanut butter (no sugar/ high fructose corn syrups)
- Cliff and MoJo bars
- Natural Peanut Butter on Whole Wheat Bread
- Ham sandwich on Whole Wheat Bread (avoid Turkey if possible)
- Hardboiled egg with juice
- Whole grain crackers with natural peanut butter
- Hummus and carrot sticks
- Celery and natural peanut butter
- Nuts – walnuts, almonds, cashews
NOTE: Complex carbohydrates (fruits, vegetables, grains) are critical to providing the body with glucose for energy. If there is not enough, and the glucose stores (glycogen) have also been depleted, then proteins must be broken down to make glucose and therefore the protein is not available to be used as building block for muscles. Sports nutrition research recommends athletes get 13 x servings of fruits, vegetables and grains daily.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION for PARENTS
24 Hour Rule RVC has a 24-hour rule when talking with coaches at ANY Power or Tournament. This is in place to protect coaches, players and parents from unnecessary problems. Parents are asked to refrain from talking with any coach about playing time issues, coaching issues, etc. When in a competitive setting and if emotions are high, then things can escalate quickly and easily, in this setting conversations are not going to be productive and can further perpetuate the issue. This doesn’t mean you can’t talk to the coach, just wait to discuss things about play until at least 24 hours after the tournament is over. Communication is considered to be in person, by phone, text messages and emails. This is a widely used practice among volleyball programs and is suggested to us by USA Volleyball. Parents who do not follow this rule may inhibit their daughter’s ability to play on the court at the next scheduled event. This rule is to not be taken lightly and is considered to be a serious topic for RVC Volleyball Club.
Playing Time
As is true with most club sports, playing time is NOT GUARANTEED, WE PLAY TO WIN! We are a competitive club and spots on the court are earned through hard work, and dedication at practice as well as performance and stats. You are paying for your player’s training and to be a part of the team. It is her job to work hard and to EARN a time on the court.
If you and/or your daughter are unhappy with something like playing time, here are the steps to follow: (*this is to happen at a practice – NOT a power or tournament)
a. The player needs to approach their coach and ask, “What can I do to play more?”z
b. If you feel that your daughter then works on and improves on what their coach talks to them about, then
c. please schedule a player and parent meeting with the coach
d. If you still feel that there is an issue, then schedule a meeting with the Assistant Coaching Director assigned to your team
Grievance Policy If you are having any issues that you feel should be bought to the attention of the coach or RVC Administration, feel free to do so.
- In regards to issues with other parents, first talk with the coach. If it still does not get resolved, contact Jason
- For issues with coaches, contact Ericka
- For issues with other players, first talk with the coach. If it does not get resolved, contact Ericka
- For general issues with the club, contact Jason
Communication We pride ourselves on our communication. The main source of communication that we use is email and the “RVC App” as well as our “Grind Newsletter” the app mirrors the calendar on our website. For example: the next Power site, changes to schedules, tournament info, etc. will be on the “RVC App”
Sick If your player is not feeling well please keep them home, do not allow them to come to practice/powers/tournaments etc.... If your player starts to not feel well during practice they will be sent home.
Invoices and Monthly Dues Payments Invoices can be paid online through our website. Email Jason anytime you want to see the most recent invoice or any questions regarding your invoice.
If you chose to do monthly payments, Club Fees are according to the payment plan you selected. For teams that travel, Travel Fees are due according to the schedule set forth by the Club, payments may be paid by cash, check, money order (made out to RVC) or credit card. For checks please put the players name and what the money is for on the memo line. A returned check will be assessed a late fee of $50.00, and a bank charge of $35.00
Note: Any payments made later then the 20th of the month will be subject to a $50 late fee. If the payment is not received by the 20th of the month, the player will be refrained from practices and games until such time that payment is made. Furthermore, failure to fulfill one’s financial obligations to RVC by the conclusion of the season may result in the player being placed in “Hold List” with RMR, which will result in the player’s privileges being suspended until the obligations are fulfilled. This will also impact the player’s ability to register with RVC or any other club in RMR next year. If there are multiple players from one family, the entire family balance must be paid or the amount is then transferred to any future RMR players on the hold list. If payment is still not received by October 2023, the account will be turned over to a collections agency or dealt with in the Small Claims Courts.
Tournament Behavior
We ask that all parents remember to cheer on their daughters and their team but to also be respectful of the other players/teams/coaches in the tournament. Belittling a player based on their action on the court during a match is not tolerated and will result in your daughter not being able to play herself. This is becoming more of an issue and will not be taken lightly by RVC.
REFEREES – There are going to be some bad calls by the refs but we ask that you DO NOT hassle any refs. A parent’s actions can harm a team’s match. The same goes for the down ref, sideline judges and scorekeepers. Keep in mind that they are all someone else’s daughter so treat them as such. If the score is wrong, then let the coaches and /or ref fix it. Nothing is worse than parents going ballistic over the scoreboard.
SITE RULES – Most sites will send out rules about their facility the week prior to the tournament. Once Jason receives it, he will email them out to the team it pertains to. It is an RMR Rule that EVERYONE obeys the rules of the site they are playing at. Teams are fined by the RMR if they do not act appropriately. Also remember that most facilities are pretty cold so make sure you bring blankets, jacket/coats, etc.
Fundraising Fundraising is a great way to help ease the financial burden of playing club volleyball. ALL funds raised are distributed to each individual’s account that raises it – they are not distributed evenly among the entire team.
Fundraising is optional, and you can choose how much you want to do on an individual basis.
We will be doing fundraising throughout the season, but mainly before the Holiday break by, Butter Braids, and Yankee Candle.
Tournament Director
RVC is a site host for most RMR Sanctioned events throughout the season. For those who are interested in defraying the cost of the season we invite Parents to take on the role of Tournament Director events held at RVC. If you're interested please click on the button below and fill out the Google form. Whether you would like to host as many events as possible or if you only would be like to help out as needed please fill out the response form below. Each Tournament Director is compensated $150 per day which can be applied to your Membership Registration or Travel Fees.
We generally try and schedule two TDs for each event to help share in the responsibilities for the day, this is often a great opportunity for Parents to partner up with each other which can result in up to $300 being applied towards a family's account for the day.
Team Mom
Team moms play a vital role in the kind of experience the team's has each season, Team Moms help organize Team Bondings, work with the Coach in pushing out communication to the team with details of upcoming Power info, they act as the designated Chaperone and team liaison between the team and the parents when they travel out-of-state. Whether you would like to take the role on alone, can help only as needed or would like to partner with another mom and share in the responsibilities we are looking for someone who is organized, an excellent communicator, works good with others and would like to take on the task. If you're interested please fill out the response form and let us know! by clicking on the button below to fill out the Google form. We will review each submission so that we do our best to make sure the players have the right team mom(s) to get the most out of the long season ahead!

Purposed RMR Event Schedule
As noted above all RMR Sanctioned events are now calculated into the SOS Rankings. There are a lot of factors we take into consideration when planning out each team's schedule of events. For example we look at what event might best prepare a team before heading to a National Qualifier. We also look at the travel schedule to do our best that a team has the needed down time to recover from a four day event before heading into a upcoming Power. There are a lot of moving pieces and we are taking the time to make educated decisions so teams are positioned to finish the season with the best possible ranking.
Please note: This is not your team's confirmed schedule and is only to give you an idea of what the schedule could look like. MORE INFO coming soon!

Please note we will send out info CONFIRMING which events your team will participate in. The schedule below is just to give you a rough idea of when events will take place.
